Floridian Story Final Images - Christine Reynolds

For my final project I want to focus on the less idealized and picturesque part of Florida. This is the Florida that people tend to forget about in favor of theme parks and sandy beaches. Specifically, I am focusing on my hometown of Ocala. Ocala is a weird place. Geographically, it is a very big, but it's all spread out across farm land, so the actual population is pretty low. It feels very empty because of this. There is a strange and highly apparent disparity between upper and lower classes. You can be driving down the road past trailers and houses that are falling apart, and just a mile or two later you'll be passing by actual mansions and wealthy horse farms. It is a town of old people and conservative values. And, of course, there's a church on every street corner.
