Great job on editing your images—you have great tonal variation and depth in all of your images. The images of the reptiles are intriguing because of the way you framed them, and because of the textures in the images. Your use of light in the images by the window is successful. The image of the statue alligator reminds me too much of “campus life” photos, so I want you to try to avoid shooting on campus, and try to think more about a narrative behind these images, and ways you can use that going forward to create more compelling narratives. If you do want to shoot on campus, try to defamiliarize it in a way in which we can’t tell its campus anymore.It seems like you have a good grasp on the mechanics of the camera. I want to encourage you to keep pushing yourself to experiment with different subject matter. You’re natural at composing animals, so I want to push you to try composing other subjects, and think of the way you can compose them to have strong narrative quality, such as the image of the snake next to the window. To me, this one has more narrative potential than many of the others. Good job and keep experimenting!
