Good job experimenting with a variety of subject matter. Most of your images are well framed, but most of them are a little too dark to print in the right tones. Make sure you are editing with your screen at 60% brightness, instead of 100%, so that the images don’t come out too dark when you begin printing. The images have a lot of grey tones, which can be fixed with a little tweaking in photoshop using the levels of curves tool. For future assignments, please push yourself to find or create subjects outside of the conventional. No more campus photos or flowers, unless you can find a way to show it that is unfamiliar and doesn’t fall into the conventional tropes of “nature” or “campus” photography. The blurred flower image is interesting, but could use more contrast and tonal variation. Try experimenting more and thinking about what you want your images to say, rather than just representing things as they are. How can you push the way you compose your images to be have stronger narrative potential? Good job and keep pushing yourself!
